Researches on ZNC was published on top journal Plant and Soil.

Endophytic fungi are plant mutualists. Their metabolites can improve plant disease and stress resistance, enhance plant growth, and promote fertilizer utilization efficiency. However, endophytes with high activity and low cost that can be widely used in agricultural productions were hardly found, and little researches were done on their mechanisms. 

May 2, 2019, Shandong Pengbo Biotechnology Co., Ltd and Shandong Agricultural University co-authored a manuscript entitled “Paecilomyces variotii extracts (ZNC) enhance plant immunity and promote plant growth” on Plant and Soil. In this study, scientist found that Paecilomyces variotii extracts- ZNC showed high activity in promoting plant growth and improving disease resistance. When used at 1- 10 ng/ml, ZNC can mediate salicylic acid (SA) pathway, activate plant immune system, and improve plant defense response. ZNC was proved to increase auxin level in root tips and regulate the absorption of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P).

         

Scientists also found that ZNC can induce SA biosynthesis and activate SA signaling pathways.

Further study showed that ZNC at low concentration can promote plant growth, induce auxin accumulation as well as N and P absorption and transportation.
